Beginning to Rebuild Palestine
In partnership with local organizations, UMR is working to rebuild Palestine by delivering vital pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to 12 primary healthcare centers (PHCs) and medical points across the Middle and South Governorates of the Gaza Strip.
Due to the current ceasefire in Palestine, UMR is able to reach more beneficiaries as the borders open up to humanitarian aid.
UMR’s Gaza relief initiative, in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, seeks to continue providing critical medical services, supplies, and pharmaceuticals, bolstering the capacity of these 12 healthcare facilities. The project aims to mitigate shortages of essential medications such as antibiotics, painkillers, chronic disease treatments, vaccines, and mental health medications.
Additionally, UMR will sustain food aid distribution by locally mobilizing essential food supplies for affected families. By maintaining consistent healthcare access—particularly for women, children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses—this project strives to alleviate suffering and improve overall health outcomes in the conflict-impacted regions.
The project will directly benefit around 1.6 million individuals, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in the Middle and South Governorates of Gaza. Priority will be given to vulnerable groups such as children, women, the elderly, and individuals with chronic illnesses. UMR is part of a wide coalition delivering emergency aid to Gaza.
